Regional Asian ACRE Meeting Workshop  -  Wuhan   4th - 6th November, 2019
Forty-seven participants exchanged the history of instrumental meteorological observations on Mauritius Exchanged the updated progress in rescue and digitization work of the early-period meteorological observations in China, Japan and Southeast Asia, and discussed a series of issues related to the discovery, imaging, digitization and quality-controlling of the observational data. The Department of Atmospheric Sciences of CUG(Wuhan), the NCC/CMA and the Hadley Centre of the UK MetOffice gave support to this workshop.Sources of hardcopy data (paper, microfiches)
ACRE China Under CSSP China WP 1 Report, 2018
Data Rescue, Scanning & Digitisation – China & SE Asia, covering: Weather observations taken on board ships in Chinese seas and the Asian monsoon region Weather observations taken at terrestrial Chinese locations Weather observations taken at locations in or bordering China in the Asian Monsoon region Improving and standardising the software tools for marine observations
Forty-seven participants: Exchanged the history of instrumental meteorological observations on Mauritius Outlined the updated progress in rescue and digitization work of the early- period meteorological observations in China, Japan and Southeast Asia Discussed a series of issues related to the discovery, imaging, digitization and quality-controlling of the observational data. An interlinked meeting of ACRE China 3 (under CSSP China) in conjunction with ACRE SE Asia2 and ACRE Japan, and the11th ACRE Workshop, Integrating with the Copernicus C3S DRS and the data rescue part of a German IKI project. It resulted in: Wide exposure of CSSP, ACRE and Copernicus activities to the Asian weather and climate community, Specific workshops on a proposed image portal for ACRE and data rescue and digitisation practices, Strong traction with the Indian Meteorological Department on potential joint data rescue activities.

ACRE SE Asia Workshop, Puri Pujanga, National University of Malaysia, Kual Lumpur  27th - 28th May - 2014
Report Summary; The primary goal of this project has been to launch ACRE SE Asia as an umbrella body to build capacities within SE Asian institutions, agencies & NMS to improve and extend historical instrumental, documentary and palaeo databases of SE Asian weather/climate. Action Summary: Establishment of a Steering Committee for ACRE SEAsia Link with WMO’s I-DARE portal as a data repository, as well as SACA&D Digitisation work of 3 times daily weather observations for Medan and Indochina and the South Seas Updating of the ACRE website and Southeast Asia web pages Establishment of a working partnership with Vietnam IHMEN); Korean KMA; Thailand TMD Information sharing between ACRE SE Asia and the above partners, especially on extant sources of data not currently held within the institution countries through ACRE and project partners
2nd meeting of tthe Indian Ocean Data Rescue initiative (INDARE)  - Ebene, Mauritius, 19th- 20th October, 2015 National University of Malaysia, Kual Lumpur  27th - 28th May - 2014
The meeting was attended by participants from 16 countries of the Indian Ocean RIM as well as representatives from regional and international organizations. Topics discussed included: Status of National Data Rescue initiatives Enhancing climate resilience in the Island developing dtates of RIMES countries DARE Related Activities in Eastern and Southern Africa Status of Data Rescue project proposals submitted to WMO Financing in WMO for Development Projects Consideration and endorsement of the Work Plan of INDARE Consideration of proposal of expanding the Scope of INDARE
